Knew him, a very fine person and baal chesed and yerei shomayim. His first family was killed by the Germans ימ”ש. Raised a wonderful second family. זצ”ל .
The Yiddish Newspapers this week (Der Yid and Der Blatt) wrote that at 101 he was the oldest satmar chossid, he was still a talmid of the Atzei Chaim Zts”l the father of the Beirach Moshe Zts”l, the Atzei chaim passed away more then 80 years ago, The nifter had a wife and 6 kids the oldest already 18 years old before the WW11 and were murdered at the war hy”d, he remarried and raised a beautiful family here in the US,his oldest son R’ Mordche was a very close confidente of the late Beirach Moshe Zts”l and is currently the closest advisor to his son the current Satmar Rebbe R’ Aharon Teitelbaum Shli”ta, R’ Mordche has vast holdings in real estate in Brooklyn, Lakewood, and Europe, he is a well known philantrophist for all worthy causes especially for the Satmar kehilla’s worldwide.
The family was planning to celebrate his 102nd birthday next month.
