8:08PM EST 10/13/07: (UPDATE IN EXTENDED STORY) Yeshivaworld regrets to inform you of the sudden, tragic Petirah of 5-year-old Meir Greenberg A”H on Erev Shabbos in Toronto. A Misaskim spokesman has informed Yeshivaworld that the child reportedly was boarding a bus to return home from Yeshiva Yesodei Hatorah, and suddenly collapsed. Totonto Hatzolah and local Paramedics attempted to resuscitate him, and he was transported to a nearby hospital. Unfortunately, he was R”L pronounced dead at the hospital.
Numerous Askanim were involved to assure that no autopsy was preformed on the Niftar.
The Kevurah is scheduled to take place in New York, but exact times and locations of the Levaya will be posted as soon as they become available to us.
UPDATE 11:21AM EST 10/14/07: Misaskim has informed Yeshivaworld that the private jet carrying the Niftar will be arriving at Farmingdale (Long Island) Airport at approximately 3:00PM. The Levaya will be taking place at the Wellwood Cemetery at 3:30PM (Exit 35 off the Southern State Parkway).

I know the family from Flatbush and was a friend with the father of the young Meir Greenberg A”H. I was also a beneficiary of Mr. Meir Greenberg’s A”H chesed on a weekly basis. May the Ribbono Shel Olam bring a nechama to the Greenberg family and Macha Hashem Dima Meal Kol Panim, Bekarov
