07:33 IL: After five years in Hamas captivity, IDF Sgt. First Class Gilad Shalit has arrived at the Kerem Shalom Crossing, now in Egyptian custody, marking the end of his captivity.

Shalit will undergo preliminary examination by an IDF psychiatrist and physician, and from Kerem Shalom, he will be transported to Israel for a reunion with his family in the Tel Nof air force base.

The reports of Shalit’s arrival at Kerem Shalom are based on credible information both in Israel and from Egypt, but yet unconfirmed by official sources.

Israel Radio moments ago reported that Shalit is indeed in Egyptian hands, despite Hamas statements denying this to be the case.
