Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) senior official, Ahmed Sa’adat, who is serving a 30-year sentence in an Israeli prison, has been transported to a hospital after collapsing, the result of a 20-day hunger strike.
Sa’adat was excluded from the Gilad Shalit prisoner release deal, one of the terrorists the government refused to include in the list because he was involved in the murder of a government minister, Tourism Minister Rechavam Ze’evi HY”D on October 17, 2001.
Officials report his condition took a considerable turn for the worse after he learned his name was not among the 1,027 terrorists being released by Israel.
