Not sure what point you’re missing. Obviously, without plans for parnassa, it’s going to be tough going. Rebbe Yid, your assessment is unrealistic. You don’t seem to realize how much the basic necessities cost especially when there is a house full of children. Even if the wife works full time, it better be an extremely well paying job, and given the fact that most women at some point want to raise their kids, I don’t know how feasible that is. There are some yachidim who have the wealth to sit and learn their entire lives, but the reality is, most people work to make ends meet, and if the guy first decides at 35 that he has to work, well, his options may be limited.
