PHOTOS: Two Critical Following Fire With Possible Explosion In Flatbush


Two people were seriously burned following some type of explosion and fire on East 9th Street, Monday morning. The incident happened in a private semi-attached home on East 8th Street between Ave S and Avenue T, in the heart of the Flatbush Sephardic community. FlatbushScoop.com reports that the home was under construction, and at least two people were working in the basement when there was some sort of blast and fire. Flatbush Hatzolah raced to the scene and found two people outside the home severely burned. Responding Hatzolah Paramedics expedited their response, and the FDNY extinguished the fire in a very short time.

Both victims suffered third degree burns on most of their bodies, and were transported in critical condition to the hospital.
