Magen David Adom, Israel’s emergency medical service reports treating 2,168 people during Yom Kippur, including 58 syncopal episodes, people passing out. There were 28 cardiac arrests and 246 children were injured in bicycle accidents, all sustaining light injuries. 122 women in labor were transported to hospitals, including 2 whose children were delivered by paramedics. There were 15 vehicular accidents in which 24 people were injured, one moderate and the remainder in light condition.
** Two cemeteries in Jaffa were targeted by vandals, one Muslim on Christian. “Price Tag” graffiti was written on the tombstones along with “death to Arabs”.
** There was a fire in the Gur shteibel in Bnei Brak over Yomtov. No injuries reported.
** Heavy damage was reported in an apartment blaze in the Romeima area of the capital. No injuries were reported.
** Firebombs were hurled at an IDF outpost near el-Aroub in the Gush Etzion area. No injuries.
** Fake bombs were discovered northwest of Ramallah and near Shechem.
** 8 youths were arrested in Netanya for their involvement in rock-throwing attacks against vehicles near the city’s hospital. In one case, a driver slowed down in response to the rocks and was hit in the rear by another vehicle.

Your statistics are meaningless unless you also include what the usual daily average? Are women more or less likely to go into labor on Yom Kippur? Are children more or less likely to have accidents? Are car accidents more or less likely? Are heart attacks more or less likely?
