No, yiddish is NOT intrinsically holy. It can be used for holy things or for inappropriate things.
My mother knew German growing up and my father Yiddish. They had no trouble conversing when they didnt want us kids to understand. Since my mother didnt know any yiddish and my father didnt know any German, to me it meant that German/Yiddish are close enough together. By extension, is German holy?
I think it would make so much more sense if we spoke Aramaic or Hebrew at home. After all, it would make learning Torah significantly easier at a young age because you arent learning how to memorize words, but rather to understand the concept.
While Ben-Yehuda may not have had pure intentions, he did make hebrew available to the masses. And yes, that means its much easier for a chiloni Israeli to start learning Torah than an off the derech American who doesnt know any Hebrew. Ivrit=Tumah? I’m not sure the equation is balanced…
