Shai district police on Monday, 5 Tishrei, apprehended a vehicle at the Hizme Checkpoint bordering northern Jerusalem, and the occupants, residents of the predominately Arab Jerusalem neighborhood of Beit Haninah were carrying 500 kilograms (1,100 lbs) of meat from the PA (Palestinian Authority), neveila.

The suspects told police this was not the first time they smuggled meat from PA areas into Israel, but it was the first time they were apprehended.

The meat was taken by authorities to be destroyed.
