How much would installing a 220 line cost? What is the difference in price between the combo unit and regular units?
As far as how well they work, I would call Towne Appliance in Lakewood and ask. I would expect that they’ll tell you they’re not great. At least one seller’s website has a disclaimer:
“*** Washer and Dryer combos will never dry your clothes at 100%. ***”
You can ask them for the price differential on the different units as well, and figure out if the higher cost of installibg a 220 line is worth the convenience.
If you haven’t, you should also ask your landlord if he would partially pay for the line, since it does improve his apartment for future tenants.
Also, have you looked into installing a natural gas line?
