So I did tonz of research into KC – read whatever I could about it, talked to a girl who went last year, talked to a girl who is there now, and my sis spoke to a girl and a madricha there as well. From all of that I learned: It’s not an academic sem at all. The girls who go there are really sweet and friendly, it’s usually about half-half mix (oot and in town). There’s 5-7 girls per room. It’s not tracked, but the classes are split into 2 just to make it easier, but they learn the same things on the same level. It’s a very hashkafa based seminary. If you have nowhere to go for Shabbos they’ll place you, dw you wont be left stranded 🙂 the staff is very caring and approachable, especially the principals. There is NOT a lot of work at all- this is a very good or very bad thing, depending on who you are and where you are coming from. They are in a great location, and the living conditions are good. There are no model lessons (a HUGE relief for me!!!!!) Every monday there is half-day tiyul- morning classes til 1:45, tiyul from 2:00. Full-day tiyul every so often, and two-day tiyul twice in the year. Once a month is a mandatory in-shabbos. I don’t remember the full schedule, but I think that they have most afternoons off. Night classes are 7:30-9:20, except every second wednesday – they get off. Every first wed is at a teacher’s house (I think). Every thursday afternoon is chessed. On friday, from 9-9:45 am is a make-up test (if you need one). Then there’s an optional class, then a mandatory class until 11:30, then the rest of the day off. I think there’s about half rabbanim and half female teachers. There are no courses. The girls are between seminar and bya “type”(as in middle of the road, with some a bit more right- and some a bit more left-wing). Every person that I and my sis spoke to said they love KC and really recommend it, however if you are extremely academic/studious I probably would not recommend it – but that is just my personal opinion. If you like you could ask other questions and I’ll try to tell you acc to what I know from ppl who went there! Good luck! 🙂
