Is The Next Turkish Flotilla En Route To Gaza?

Israel’s security establishment is monitoring the activities of a Turkish organization that appears to be organizing another ‘humanitarian’ flotilla to Gaza. Once again, it appears a Turkish vessel will attempt to penetrate Israel’s blockade of Hamas-controlled Gaza.

Officials indicate that a Hamas health official met with organizers of the flotilla, which will reportedly be bringing medications to the Hamas-controlled area.

Walla News reports that due to a debt between Hamas and the PA (Palestinian Authority) of NIS 150 million, the latter has halted the delivery of medical supplies to Gaza. At present, there appears to be a shortage of 150 pharmaceuticals used in operating rooms, oncology units, and for the treatment of hypertension and diabetes.

As a result, Israel has permitted a number of Gazans to leave to seek treatment elsewhere, including PA areas throughout Yehuda and Shomron and Israel proper.

Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan has warned Israel that his navy would escort the next flotilla with warships, daring Israel to attempt to halt any delivery to Gaza, apparently determined to break the embargo.
