Lebanon Arrests Alleged Israeli Spy

According to a Lebanese media report, an Egyptian national married to a Lebanese woman was arrested in Lebanon on Tuesday for allegedly spying for Israel. According to the report appearing in al-Akbar, the suspect was apprehended in southern Lebanon, where he has been residing for the past 15 years.

During his interrogation, he admitted to the allegations against him — that he spied against Lebanon on behalf of Israel in 1999, even making a number of trips to Israel where he met with his handler.
