Hopefully they’re not being sacrificed! You don’t just throw a kid out without making alternate accommodations. Sometimes you unfortunately have no choice . If a rebellious teen is for instance, showing inappropriate pictures or videos to their siblings, or being openly mechallel shabbos in your house. If the teen is respectful to your rules but just not living up to the household standards there’s no reason to send them away in my opinion.
