Interior Minister (Shas) Eli Yishai will be traveling to Uman on Monday night to get a firsthand look at Rosh Hashanah arrangements as well as logistical arrangements for the arrival of an expected 40,000 people from around the world.
Yishai was invited by the Ukrainian minister of the interior, and the ministers will be meeting on Tuesday to review arrangements ahead of the arrival of most guests.
There are many Israeli agencies involved in the arrangements, including security officials who are well aware such a gathering presents an inviting target for terrorists, especially in the shadow of the PA (Palestinian Authority) unilateral declaration of statehood expected later in the week.
In addition, Magen David Adom and Zaka will be on hand along with many others involved in addressing the many aspects of hosting such a large tzibur, all arriving within a few days.

One Response
Why is Yishai wasting time on Uman when the IDF and security forces are anticipating major demonstrations and rioting later this week as a result of th UN vote on Palestinian statehood. Every year there are pleas for these zealots to stay home with their families on Rosh Hashanah rather than running off to one of the most anti-semitic countries in the world
