As plans of an expected unilateral declaration of Palestinian statehood continue, in Israel, both the security and diplomatic communities are working to prepare, with the latter hoping to thwart the planned move scheduled for the upcoming United Nations General Assembly. The General Assembly session is scheduled to get underway on September 23rd.
Israel media, quoting “senior PA (Palestinian Authority) officials” indicate 140 countries are expected to support the move despite the objections of the United States and Israel.
PA emissaries have been traveling the globe during recent months, seeking to enlist support for their planned unilateral move, explaining that the Oslo Agreement was signed on the White House lawn in September 1993 and nothing has changed since that time. The PA is hoping to create facts on the ground with the move, seeking to define a Palestinian state throughout Yehuda and Shomron, as well as eastern Jerusalem serving as its capital.
If the move is successful, the new State of Palestine hopes to gain inclusion into the United Nations. Back at home, the IDF and intelligence community are monitoring the situation, fearing massive violence and attacks may erupt as a result.

If this happens, Israel shoud bar all UN personnell from Israeli territory. While there are no peace keepers startioned in Israel, many of mthose stationed of our borders (Lebanon and Egypt) come to Israel for R&R. This should stop.
