There can be no argument that 5 Agorot is an insignificant sum, with the coin long being taken out of circulation. Nevertheless, today’s most recent increase in the price of gasoline has motorists outraged. Once again, after a few short weeks during which the price was lowered a bit, gas prices have been increased, this time by 5 agorot a liter.
In simple terms, following the latest increase, a liter of fuel sells for NIS 7.27. Based on August 31st exchange rate of NIS 3.55/$1, the price of a gallon of fuel in Israel today is $8.19!
