Earlier Sunday morning, Hatzolah Israel was dispatched to the scene of a 60-year-old person who fell from a ladder while building a Sukkah on his balcony. The volunteers provided medical treatment and was transported by ambulance to a hospital where he was listed in moderate condition.
The Hatzolah organization said that apparently this event is the first of injuries and wounds which volunteers respond to each year between Rosh Hashana and Succos. Building a Sukkah is an act that demands carefulness in every stage and each year people are hurt while building them. The injuries include falling from ladders and balconies, infections and wounds, electrocution, and many others.
Hatzolah Israel warns that the first to get hurt each year are usually children who try to join the adults in building a Sukkah and get hurt from hazardous tools or fall from ladders etc.
Please use caution while building your Sukkah!
