writersoul -“Health: I’m actually CPR/first aid certified (I’m a lifeguard), but basically what jackinthebox said. I’d like to be as confident, equipped and knowledgeable as possible- I want to be just as qualified and helpful as those Hatzolah guys, not an interim measure.”
I’m not going to answer all those other comments, but yours – because I posted to you originally. After I finished EMT and then Medic school I went further in my education. From my POV, being an EMT is the bottom rung of the ladder. This isn’t to knock EMT’s – just to make you realize – the reality. Of course, EMT’s are integral part of the EMS system. Going back to my original comment of “Why do you need to become an EMT to practice CPR & First Aid?”, I feel s/o who practices good CPR & First Aid is just as valuable, if not more, than EMS guys!
