HaGaon HaRav Meir Mazuz Shlita, Rosh Yeshivas Kisei Rachamim scolded someone for tryign to recite the bracha “ברוך שחלק מחכמתו” after seeing the rav. One can hear Rav Mazuz cut the man off in middle of his Bracha and loudly scold him.
As can be seen in the attached video, the man began reciting the bracha before the Shiur began. Rav Mazuz became aware of his actions, interrupting him while trying to recite the bracha. “Stop reciting the bracha” he added, “it is a bracha levatalah and I am nothing. Last week when I was in Bat Yam they tried to make the bracha too and I told them it is a bracha levatalah” he addeed.

Whats the point of publicly embarrassing one of the kollel yungerleit or some other member of the tzibur who was only trying to show kavod to the Rav??
to number 1, a bracha levatala is doing an issur. The rav did not want any one to make the bracha since they are mentioning HaShem’s name for no reason; that is assur.
If he did not protest, more people would be inspired to do such and it is wrong.
So the rav was correct, even if it embarrassed the fellow…
