Elyashiv, a 7 year old boy living in northern Israel, was born with a disease so rare, only 11 people in the world have ever been diagnosed with it. TECPR2 syndrome prevents him for speaking, walking, and eating. He receives food through a tube. He often ceases to breathe during sleep, requiring him to be supervised 24 hours a day. It is the only life he has ever known.
However life has been made significantly more difficult by the fact that Elyashiv’s home is not equipped to suit his needs. His parents can’t afford to move him to a house where passageways and bathrooms are wheelchair accessible. They have started an emergency campaign in hopes of giving the boy the home he deserves.
“How fun it would be if we could play together,” video footage on the campaign page shows Elyashiv’s sister saying. It is clear that the family has worked hard to stay optimistic, despite their challenges. They will continue to suffer, however, until they are able to move to a suitable home.
