Shomron Resident Eli Baransky Announces Candidacy For The Bayit Yehudi Leadership

Eli Baransky, a colonel in the IDF reserves and resident of Yishuv Eli in Shomron on Tuesday 16 Adar announced his candidacy in the Bayit Yehudi leadership race.

In an interview with Arutz-7, he announced that he has been traveling the country and is aware the party has become detached from its voters.

Bayit Yehudi leader Naftali Bennet recently announced he was moving up primaries to next month. It is believed this is to make certain the party stands ready for elections in the event Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu is indicted in one of the investigations against him. Baransky joins the race against Bennet, who seeks reelection, and Rabbi Yitzchak Zaga, who announced his candidacy months ago.

  1. Bennett is definitely not a suitable representative for Bayit Yehudi. He’s a wishy-washy guy who associates himself once with Lapid and then changes his ming and joins chareidim. A while later he’s back with Lapid. He’s an unstable guy that follows the wind.

Rabbi Ovadia Yosef zt”l said about Bayit Yehudi in general and Bennett in particular:
“These are religious people?” he said. “They come to uproot the Torah. Those who elect them deny the Torah, this is the Jewish Home? This is the Jewish Home of the gentiles.”
