Hamas Rocket Fire Reaches Netivot – IAF Pounds Gaza Terrorist Targets

A rocket landed in front of a house in Southern Israel

It was a night of warfare for residents of southern Israel as Red Alert sirens were heard throughout the night in areas including the Gaza border communities and as far north as Netivot. The rocket fire into Netivot was a first since Operation Protective Edge in 2014.

There were rumors of a “ceasefire” around midnight, but these were quickly dispelled by Israeli officials.

Once again, we saw Yad Hashem as rockets fell, including a direct hit to the yard of a home in the Eshkol Regional Council, but B’chasdei Hashem, without injuries. Since Tuesday morning 15 Sivan, over 100 rockets and mortar shells were fired at Israel, many intercepted by the Iron Dome, some falling short, while others landed in open areas.

The IAF reported at 4:00AM, over 65 terrorist targets in Gaza were targeted in surgical strikes, retaliatory strikes for the rocket fire.

The Education Ministry reports regular school schedules today, Wednesday, 16 Sivan. Despite this, communities located within 15km of the Gaza border will not have classes. Residents of the Shar HaNegev and Eshkol Regional Councils are instructed to remain within 15 seconds of safe rooms and shelters.

Regarding Gaza Border Communities
• Gatherings may not exceed 500 people
• Schools to open only if students are within 15 seconds of shelters
• There will be regular municipal services
• Farmers must receive permits to work fields on a case-by-case basis
• No additional restrictions
There are no instructions/restrictions for other areas of the country.

At 5:30AM, Hamas official Halil Haya announced a ceasefire understanding was reached with the Islamic Jihad. A tense quiet prevails over southern Israel this morning.

  1. Exactly how does the ceasefire structure work!! The enemy shoots rockets then the retaliatory measures smash them and it is they who get to call for ceasefire????
    Like, HELLO!!

Perhaps a bit of explanation is in order. We are living in a different world, where logic and morality have been replaced. There is a new mentality, part and parcel of the “political correctness” agenda that is seeking to trash whatever humanity has left. In this mode of thinking, anyone who can succeed in procuring the recognition as a victim is awarded “on top of the world” status. The Palestinians have succeeded in this quite well, and they have pulled the intellect-free and immoral mainstream media in their wake. So when Hamas and the other savage groups shoot rockets at civilians, when they allocate all their humanitarian aid to building tunnels and manufacturing missiles and rockets, when they breach borders, etc., and they then get the wrath of retaliation, they become the victims. Suddenly the UN comes to their defense, and the mainstream media and many of the Democrats begin blaming Israel for everything.

This is the alcoholic who keeps getting arrested for driving drunk, causing accidents, and blames it all on the cops who arrested him.

We need to recognize this backwards thinking, and stop paying attention to it. Israel should not join the “ceasefire” baloney. It just gives these animals chance to regroup, replenish their supplies, and do it all again.

Until Israel deals major death blows to the terrorist groups, there are only periods of relative calm, never any semblance of peace. Yes, HKB”H is behind everything. But our hishtadlus is critical, and our direction needs to be the inflicting of major damage to them, and huge numbers of fatal blows to their census of terrorists. 60 terrorists is only a first baby step. We need major numbers, 5 digits or more, of dead terrorists before they might consider stopping.
