The IDF Spokesman Unit reports the IDF attacked more than 35 terror targets in seven terrorist compounds belonging to Hamas and Islamic Jihad terrorist organizations in Gaza.
IDF forces are telling the media that the aerial strikes that began on Tuesday, 15 Sivan, in retaliation to a morning of rocket fire from Gaza, are the heaviest that have been carried out since Operation Protective Edge, in the summer of 2014. IAF officials report they “pounded” terrorist objectives in Gaza.
Six military compounds were attacked, including weapons storage sites, naval targets and terrorist headquarters.
As part of the attack, a terror tunnel was destroryed. This is a terrorist tunnel that leaves Gaza, penetrates into Egypt, and from there crosses into Israel. The tunnel is also used for terrorist purposes and for the transfer of weapons to Egyptian territory. The tunnel was identified in the excavation stages near the Kerem Shalom crossing, where many goods pass through Gaza. This is the second tunnel that has been neutralized in the Kerem Shalom crossing, and the tenth since last October.

The attacks were carried out following the dozens of mortar shells fired by the Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) into the Gaza vicinity communities this morning. The Palestinian Islamic Jihad organization is a terrorist organization that is based on Iranian ideology and funding. Today, it used Iranian-made weapons.
In recent months, and more intensively in recent weeks, Hamas has been active in order to turn the fence into a zone of terror and fighting.
Media sources continue to report Hamas is not behind the renewed rocket fire, placing the finger of blame on the Islamic Jihad. Israeli officials are not interested, informing Hamas it is responsible for maintain cross-border quiet. Hamas has reportedly been sending messages to Israel via an Egyptian mediator.
This is a severe, dangerous, and orchestrated act of terror, aimed against civilians and children. The Palestinian Islamic Jihad is ideologically oriented and funded by Iran. In today’s launches, the terror organization used Iran-made munition

In Gaza border communities, life is not continuing as usual as fields have been cleared and farmers distanced as persons are instructed by the IDF to remain in running distance from safe rooms and bomb shelters.
Sderot Mayor Alon Davidi is one of the area leaders calling on government and defense establishment leaders to regard rocket fire into Sderot as they would Tel Aviv, and to respond accordingly, to hit terrorists hard enough that the rocket fire halts.

Fake news.
How dare the IDF accuse Iran of being behind this Palestinian Islamic Jihad! Cory Booker and Kristen Gillibrand already told their Jewish constituents that Iran is at peace with Israel. It’s time for the old war hero, the great John Kerry to sit down and meet with the leaders of Hamas and the PIJ.
