Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was taken to Hadassah Medical Center in Jerusalem’s Ein Kerem Tuesday evening, after suffering from a high fever and coughing.
Netanyahu, 68, was ordered to undergo a series of tests.
Doctors said he was suffering from an inflammation in his respitory system and that he was not in life-threatening danger
His personal physician, Dr. Berkowitz, said that he believes the prime minister’s symptoms from an illness he was suffering two weeks ago may have worsened due to not completing the period of rest required for recovery.
The Prime Minister’s Media Adviser released the following statement:
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, this evening, underwent a series of tests at Hadassah Ein Kerem hospital, where he was treated by staff physicians Dr. Alon Hershko, Prof. Alon Moses and Dr. Asher Salmon. The Prime Minister – who went to the hospital due to a high fever and cough – was also accompanied by his personal physician, Dr. Tzvi Berkovitz.
Prime Minister Netanyahu finished the series of tests and was discharged and sent home. The tests indicated a minor viral infection of his upper respiratory tract. The doctors recommended rest and medication.
תודה לכולכם על הדאגה! אני בדרכי הביתה, בטוח שקצת מנוחה ומרק חם יסדרו את העניינים. לילה טוב.
