The concreter security barriers that were placed at entrance to the Jabil Mukhaber neighborhood of Jerusalem have been removed after the latest security assessment.

Jerusalem police consulted with other security agencies and the decision was made to remove the checkpoints that were set into place to permit police to maintain control of area. They were in place since the vehicular ramming attack on January 8, 2017.

With the barriers in place, authorities had more control and it permitted them to operate in the area to apprehend persons responsible for acts of terror including rock and firebomb attacks.
