While heavy rains and flooding have been seen in areas of Israel and the rainfall is expected to continue for a number of days, it appears to be doing little to revive the ailing Kinneret.
Water Authority officials report on Monday 17 Shevat that the month of December aside, the other rainy months of this winter have shown little rainfall and this explains why that in the middle of February, the water level in the Kinneret remains 27 centimeters below the lower red line.
This is not a usual occurrence as this marks the first time this is so in over a decade. Adding to this is the fact that there is almost no water being pumped from the Kinneret yet the situation remains critical.
