The Shuvu Banim faction of Breslov reports that Rabbi Eliezer Berland was taken out of prison for emergency surgery and he now remains hospitalized, Walla News reports.

Attorney Rotem Tuvol submitted a request on behalf of the rabbi, explaining the need for the surgical procedure. The matter was adjudicated in a closed-door session and the court prohibits publicizing the name of the hospital in which he is being treated.

The Rabbi is expected to be hospitalized for at least a week which under the watchful eye of prison authority guards.
