SHOCKING VIDEO: NYC DOT Employee Punches Jewish Man In Stomach In Marine Park While Endangering Pedestrian And Vehicular Traffic

[VIDEO & PHOTOS IN EXTENDED ARTICLE]

Just two weeks after a child was struck and nearly killed by a vehicle in the Marine Park section of Brooklyn, the NYC DOT decided to enforce the traffic laws, but instead they not only endangered lives – a city employee actually assaulted a person.

The victim, who spoke to YWN on the condition of anonymity, told us that he was surprised to see a mobile speed camera parked in a “No Standing Anytime” (zone) on Thursday morning at the intersection of Flatlands Avenue and Kimball Street. The reason for the No Standing Zone is so that vehicles trying to cross Flatlands Avenue would be able to safely see if vehicles were coming down the street. Instead, the mobile speed camera was not only blocking the view for vehicles – but also for pedestrians safely trying to cross Flatlands Avenue.

The victim began filming the vehicle, and started walking over to the driver to ask him why he was parked in a No Standing Zone and obstructing the view of vehicles and pedestrians, but instead of a decent response, the DOT employee – who was twice the victims size – exited the vehicle, and what happened next is shocking.

First he began yelling about why the man was filming him, and then began chasing the man down the street – and then suddenly punched him so hard in the stomach, that the man was unable to breath. Unfortunately, when he was assaulted, his cell phone stopped filming as it fell to the floor. the victim retrieved his phone, and began to once again film the DOT employee who continued to intimidate and threaten him until he eventually got back into his vehicle.

He was asked his name and the victim was told “none of your business, that my name”.

The victim did not call police out of fear that they would side with the city employee – despite having multiple witnesses to the assault.

Thankfully, the victim was not seriously injured.

While local residents understand the need for speed enforcement, many are wondering why the city chooses to endanger vehicles and pedestrians while trying to enforce the law.

Perhaps Mayor DeBlasio who spends lot of time on his “Vision Zero” laws should look into this. Mobile speed cameras are parked in No Standing Anytime Zones all the time. They frequently block bus stops and other areas where parking summonses would be immediately issued.

No Standing signs apply to unloading and loading people only, not merchandise. New York law allows you to expeditiously drop off or pick up passengers at this sign, but it doesn’t allow you to wait for passengers to arrive or to load or unload merchandise at the curb.

  1. I’m sorry for Jewish man.
Next time, don’t initiate a conversation with some black guy by filming in his face. You needlessly escalated the situation. Of course the guy is a beheima chaya, but you can choose to use your seichel next time.
Also, you didn’t call the cops? Because they wouldn’t side with you? Hmmm…

  2. It doesn’t sound good but, pardon me, I don’t see the guy get violent nor does the filming seem to stop when, as stated, the supposed punch took place!
    Hummmmm!

  3. The city is not concerned about safety the laws only spell “MONEY”. A motorcycle don’t need any seat belts it must be the safest vehicle on the road. My neighbor was standing on a M.T.A. bus, no seat belts. After a short stop he flew to the front and knocked his head to the front and he was killed. Standing in a bus need no seat belt because it is safer then seating in a car.

  4. Now that there is media coverage, with photos, the mayor (may we be fortunate enough to see him leave office soon) will be required to save face for the city and to make sure that justice is served. Those who represent a government in the capacity of law enforcement or political authority need to be held to a higher standard. These acts of assault are not mistakes that can be sometimes overlooked or just given a reprimand. These are willful crimes that should result in termination and prosecution.

Mr. Mayor: We are watching you to see if you will do your job.

  5. its a shame that this worker acted like this every city employee has to give his name he should be fired and the city should start cracking down on workers like this i hope the city takes this for real this is why no one trust the city

  6. With all the respect to guy who was filming this so he can be on YESHIVA WORLD!!! He should have minding his own business! to me this is chalul Hashem!

  7. No indication the man was punched. No screaming, nothing. All i heard was him yelling to 2 women that they are witnesses. Witnesses to what? There was more noise coming from the Jewish guy. Sorry, I don’t buy this story.

  8. This guy should have just minded his own business. Really being in a no standing zone is endangering the public so much you need to whip out your phone and get in his face and record him?

Does he record every cop or fdny ambulance or hatzalah guy in no standing zones?

I think he just didn’t like the idea of the speed camera being there!

    Really ridiculous.

  9. no. 9 there is a break in the video just before that and they are suddenly across the street.

I had an incident with a bus driver that purposefully blew thru the red light at the B7 stop near Kings and Flatbush and a second red as well endangering the public greatly and I quietly recorded the time and bus info and called 311 who connected me to the proper complaint authority. They seemed to take it quite seriously and I had to give my name and contact info and they investigated. About a week or two later I was called by the inspector and they explained that the driver would be given a hearing after which he could lose his job. I would have to appear at the hearing as well. That was too expensive for this particular event I decided, but I hope the guy got a scare from being reported at least. This worker should certainly be officially reported, at least.

  10. No evidence of a punch… the unnecessary racist comments from number 1 do us no good.
What was the purpose of this? Does anyone really believe this guy acted Lsheim Shamayim?

  11. Truthteller(?) If he indeed punched the man, he is an animal. Nothing to do with race. The Jew is wrong for getting up in someone’s face with a camera (macher) and the goy is wrong for resorting to violence (=beheima chaya).
