The command post is operating at 17 Zevin Street in the northern Jerusalem neighborhood of N’vei Yaakov since Sunday afternoon. The autistic boy’s dad explained he brought his son from cheider and they got off the bus and the child ran from his hand for a moment, and he has not been seen since. Mr. Sarut explains his son does not communicate with his environment.
The father explained to authorities his son likes going into shuls and bomb shelters (miklatim) and hundreds of volunteers from various emergency organizations and neighborhood residents were taking part in the search for a good part of the night.
The search is resuming today with Yedidim, ZAKA, MDA, United Hatzalah and neighborhood residents and good-hearted people responding to the plea to assist. Needless to say police were and continue to be involved and a chopper was assisting during the night as well. Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Yaakov Dov should immediately phone police at 100 or ZAKA at 1220.
