With the December 25th deadline for the destruction of Amona closing in, residents are reiterating they will not leave nor will they permit security forces to remove them with using their bodies to block the effort. They continue to reject all offers to relocate them to nearby plots of land where they would rebuild their homes and ultimately live in an expanded community.
They vow to use children to block tractors when they arrive to begin removing them, adding they will use their bodies to prevent all efforts to remove them from their homes by force.
The Bayit Yehudi party has signaled the Amona issue may lead to a coalition crisis while some right-wing MKs including Defense Minister Avigdor Lieberman and Justice Minister Ayelet Shaked have stated under current realities, there is no alternative but to evict residents and destroy the community as per the orders of the nation’s High Court of Justice.
Lieberman stressed while this reality is not in line with his wishes, the hands of the government are tied by the High Court in this case, calling on residents to accept an offer of relocating the community elsewhere.

The IDF is a capable force. It should have no problem removing these people and forcing them to obey the law.
