HaGaon HaRav Eliezer Kahaneman Shlita flew to a dinner in New York via Cyprus and Vienna, leading some to question why the round-about route.
Rav Kahaneman took off from the Haifa airport to Cyprus to attend a dinner on behalf of the yeshiva. he will spend the night there and then head to Vienna and then to the USA. It is explained that due to concerns of a Kohen and ‘tumas meis’ by flying out of Ben-Gurion Airport at present, he opted for the round-about path since flights from Ben-Gurion pass over a cemetery in Holon.
The annual dinner to benefit Ponevezh is scheduled to be held in two weeks in Boro Park.
