The annual slichos event held over the past decades is set for Monday night the eve of 9 Tishrei in Beersheva, sponsored by Mosdos Beit Yosef founded by HaGaon HaRav Binyamin Batzri ZT”L”.

Tens of thousands of mispallalim usually attend the special event, which is credited for bringing many back to a path of adherence to Torah and Mitzvos. The annual erev Yom Kippur event was started by Rav Batzri, who held the recitation of slichos in high regard. His son, HaGaon HaRav Yosef Chaim Batzri will be leading the event this year, for the eleventh consecutive year.

Many of those in attendance are far from a Torah lifestyle, buy are drawn in nonetheless. Beit Yosef’s veteran director of decades, Rav Shimon Tuvul has always been present and this year, due to the large number of participants expected, it will be held in the new Turner Stadium in the southern city as the previous venue was always crowded.
