Additional information has been released by investigators into the fatal crash of an Israel Air Force F-16 fighter plane which was returning from base following a mission over Gaza. Major Ohad Cohen-Nov was killed in the fatal incident.

It was first reported that the plane’s navigator ejected to safety while Cohen-Nov, the pilot, remained with the plane, trying to save it and he died in the crash.

It is now reported that the eject mechanism works for both almost simultaneously and the navigator was ejected, followed by the pilot a second later. Hence, Cohen-Nov was not in the plane when it crashed below but was killed on impact with the earth. The investigation continues.
