In the framework of preventative action, security forces operated in Issawiya and the Shuafat refugee camp in the Jerusalem district, confiscating weapons and ammunition including pistols, magazines, pocketknives, and assorted other connected items.

The raids took place on Wednesday night the eve of 19 Elul involving Israel Police and border police. 23 suspects were taken into custody in the operations for taking part in rioting, popular terrorism (rock-throwing and the like), possession of illegal weapons, drugs and stolen property.
