Two Sifrei Torah were brought into the Israel Police Southern District in time for Rosh Hashanah. Many police personnel were on hand for the hachnasas Sifrei Torah and some took part in writing the last letters.

The first sefer was brought to a shul in the Negev Central Unit (ימ”ר), and the second was placed in the Dimona station.

One of the Sifrei Torah is in memory of border policeman Shimon Avgi HY”D, who fell in the line of duty on the Adurayim Road on 7 Tishrei 5757. The Sefer Torah was donated by his parents and family members.

The rav of Dimona, Rabbi Elifant Shlita and Mayor Benny Biton were among the participants in the hachnasas Sefer Torah in Dimona.
