Security officials in Israel announced on Tuesday, 26 Kislev that the ISA (Shin Bet) and Israel Police in a joint operation in October and November of 2015 arrested a number of Nazareth residents whom are affiliated with ISIS. Police report they received intelligence information the suspects in custody were meeting with terrorist representatives and making arrangements to acquire weapons and ammunition.

Five suspects are in custody, ranging in age from 18 to 27, all residents of Nazareth, Israeli Arab citizens.

The ISA reports that last year the suspects worked to acquire weapons as they became more religiously observant, expressing support for ISIS and a Jihad against non-believers. A number of weapons were confiscated as a result of the arrests as well.

Indictments have been handed down against the suspects in the Nazareth District Court including charges of maintaining a connection with an illegal organization and conspiracy.
