SUMMARY, 07:58: What appeared to be a terror attack at first may now be ruled a criminal assault by police. A security guard at the Noffim School located on Erez Street in Afula was attacked with a metallic rod. The attacker then grabbed the guard’s pistol and fled the scene. The guard’s injuries are non-life-threatening. Police are searching for the attacker.

Magen David Adom reports the victim, a male in his fifties, is being transported to Ha’emek Hospital in Afula in light-to-moderate condition.

07:40: Emergency agencies are responding to a reported stabbing attack at an Afula school. It appears a security guard was attacked by an Arab terrorist armed with a knife. The terrorist reportedly fled the scene with the guard’s pistol.

07:44: The attack occurred at the Noffim School located on Erez Street in Afula. The guard sustained blunt force trauma, reportedly from a metallic object. It does not appear that he was stabbed. The terrorist has fled with his handgun. The area is being shut down and a manhunt for the terrorist is ongoing.
