The terrorist responsible for the motzei Shabbos stabbing attack in Kiryat Gat that left four people wounded was apprehended after an intensive manhunt that lasted several hours, involving 250 policemen and helicopters.
There was considerable concern and even panic among some as the terrorist responsible for the attack was fled the scene, still at large for a number of hours following the attack. City Hall had already announced if the terrorist is not apprehended during the night, schools would not open on Sunday morning. Roadblocks were set into place and the city was shut down as the search widened.
Police report the man was holed up in the yard of a home on the street where the attack was carried out. He was hiding in the hope of escaping sometime during the night. The search for the terrorist led to the arrest of a number of PA (Palestinian Authority) illegals found in the city but when the terrorist was found, his bloodied hands and clothing gave his identity away. He was also still in possession of the knife used in the attack.
