New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio arrived in Israel on an official visit. On Sunday, 5 Cheshvan, the mayor visited Yad Vashem. The Mayor is visiting Israel as part of the 30th International Mayors Conference. Mr. de Blasio will be joined by some 40 other international Mayors participating in the Conference.
The Mayor toured the Holocaust History Museum, participated in a memorial ceremony in the Hall of Remembrance, visited the Children’s Memorial and signed the Yad Vashem Guest Book.
The visiting mayor was hosted by Jerusalem Mayor Nir Barkat on motzei Shabbos parshas Noach. The two visited some of the victims of recent Islamic terror attacks hospitalized in Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital. De Blasio was accompanied by a number of chareidi individuals from New York.
Mayor de Blasio also spoke at length with terror victim R’ Pesach Krashevsky, who was wounded in the Malchei Yisrael Street attack.
The visiting mayor also visited the Kosel on Sunday.
