Rishon L’Tzion Rabbi Yitzchak Yosef Shlita met with the newly-appointed dayanim who will be serving on the Chief Rabbinate batei din around the country.
In addition to a short dvar torah, the rav explains to the newcomers the importance of treating those who come before them with compassion, citing if one is late, rather than shouting at him, a dayan must understand the circumstances, perhaps traffic delays. He tries to explain the process until one reaches the beis din and therefore the dayanim should and must remain compassionate and understanding to those who come before the beis din.
