Israel’s Jewish population ahead of Rosh Hashanah 5776 stands at 6.3 million, 74.9% of the total population. The Arabs number 1.746 million (20.7%) and the ‘other’ population numbers 366,000 (4.4%). According to predictions, the population will exceed 10 million sometime from 2025-2030.
168,000 babies were born in the outgoing year and 42,000 people were niftar.
32,000 people were added to the population migration balance, including approximately 28,000 new immigrants. This number represents an increase of 35% compared to the previous Jewish year. Most of the immigrants came from the Ukraine (26%), France (25%), Russia (21%) and the United States (9%).
