In what was an isolated incident, one person was shot inside an apartment on East 15 St near Avenue J, Wednesday.
Highly credible sources tell YWN that it appears that a person who was playing with a gun may have fired off one round which struck himself in the shoulder.
The victim was transported to a local hospital in stable condition.
Sadly, thanks to social media, messages of panic went viral in seconds warning people of a “sniper in the area with 2 people shot” and that there “are school lockdowns”
This is totally fabricated information with zero truth to it.
Thanks to incredibly fast police work by the NYPD 70 Precinct, the guns have already been recovered, and two people are in police custody and being questioned by Detectives.

Actually your article is in error. The yeshiva sent a text message to parents that they took the initiative of locking down the building until they received notice from the NYPD that they can lift.
The incident was on E 17th street, not E 15th. The wound was in the arm, not the shoulder. When 100’s of police cars are all over Ave J, when children are out going to lunch, creating a traffic jam and a helicopter is hovering over them. Of course that people will panic.
It is not a fabrication that schools were on lockdown. Chaim Berlin sent out a text to its parent body that they were informed by the NYPD that there was an active shooter in the area, and the Yeshiva was indeed on lockdown. They then sent another text that the NYPD lifted the lockdown.
how is it possible people have guns, de blasio and Cuomo made laws making it illegal to have guns.
I just double checked, it was E 15th at. I just recall seeing tracks, so I thought it’s further down.
The Yeshiva LIED? Doesnt the word lie imply a deliberate attempt to deceive? Wouldnt a better word be, the Yeshiva was mistaken? Or perhaps, the Yeshiva sent out the text based on erroneous information.

fyi There was no lie… Text from yeshiva stated: “we were informed of a active shooter in the neighborhood. we locked down the bulding and we were notified by NYPD that it is now lifted.”
