A ceremony was held earlier this week in the presence of Chief Rabbi Dovid Lau Shlita, Rabbi of Holy Sites Shmuel Rabinowitz Shlita, officials from the Ministry of Religious Services, and IDF Coordinator of Activities in Yehuda & Shomron Major-General Yoav Mordechai at Kever Shmuel HaNavi.

The site is one that has been visited by mispallalim, numbers hundreds of thousands annually. However, the condition had deteriorated and the decision was made to improve the safety, access and aesthetics of the holy site.

Director-General of the Center for the Development of Holy Sites Yosef Swinger opened the festive event. Both Rav Lau and Rav Rabinowitz addressed the tzibur as well.

Major-General Mordechai stated his office will continue carrying out renovations in site that are holy to Am Yisrael, expressing his delight over the completion of the work at Shmuel HaNavi.

Many other rabbonim and public officials participated in the event.
