Knesset Speaker Yuli Edelstein on Tuesday, 27 Tammuz, met with the parents of IDF Lt. Hadar Goldin HY”D, who was killed in Operation Protective Edge and his body taken by Hamas terrorists.

The late soldier’s mother, Mrs. Leah Goldin told the speaker “After a year since Operation Protective Edge, we are amazed to discovery that there is not awareness to the fact that Hadar is not just a fatality of the war but that his body was abducted. We have undertaken this as our mission. Unfortunately, the enemy does not honor life and we remain determined to bring his body back for burial and we require assistance from anyone towards that end”.

“The dilemma is that we have no desire to pay a heavy price as in the past and we don’t want to see terrorists on our street. We hope our leaders will have the courage to make the decision” she stated.

Edelstein stated that today Israel faces Hamas and Iran, cruel enemies that have a goal of causing pain and suffering to Israel and its citizens. “They will take of every advantage they have to do just that” Edelstein explained.

Edelstein added “The dilemma is not a simple one, to act in the public arena or behind the scenes? The dilemma accompanies us at many intersections and I recall back to the days of the struggle for aliyah from the former Soviet Union. You have every right to demand action towards bringing Hadar home. Whose plight and that of Oron Shaul remain unresolved for the time being”.
