For the first time since the elections for 20th Knesset, Rishon L’Tzion Rabbi Yitzchak Yosef Shlita and Minister of Religious Services David Azoulai met with heads of the nation’s local religious councils. The kenos was hosted in Yavne.

Rabbi Yosef shared words of Torah, then praising the religious council leaders for their vital work on behalf of the tzibur. The kenos was arranged by the religious council heads, particularly Shlomo Tanami.

Minister Azoulai addressed a number of relevant topics, stressing his awareness of the fact that mikve women sacrifice so much, leaving the Friday night table to serve the community and receiving so little remuneration for their mesirus nefesh. He promises to do his utmost to get them an increase in salary which is long overdue.
