A historic event took place last week at the home of Hagon Harav Chaim Kanievsky Shlita, with the establishment of Yeshivas Vilna which is set to begin this coming Elul zman with the encouragement and blessing of the Gadol Hador.

Yeshivas Vilna which will be located in Moshav Achiezer is blessed to have the guidance HaRav Kanievsky, and will continue to be guided with his Torah wisdom.

In attendance at this monumental event were many of the Roshei Yeshivah of Yeshivos around Eretz Yisroel. Harav Zelig Braverman, a son in law of Rav Chaim, read aloud a letter in which the Gadol requested of Harav Mordechai Aderes, the founder of this unique yeshivah “to establish a makom Torah where bachurim may have the opportunity to master Shas b’iyun and with clarity—thus we will merit a generation of talmidei Chachamim and Ge’onim who master Shas.”

Harav Kanievsky expressed his desire for the appointment of Roshei Yeshivah of a high caliber to fill the needs of the bachurim and to guide them accordingly in the path on which they are about to embark.

The talmidim will merit a monthly audience with Rav Chaim, who assured the leaders of the yeshivah that these talmidim will be seen as the cream of the Yeshivah World, and that those who send their children there will, be’ezras Hashem, see much fruit in his labor and to see them develop into great Talmidei Chachamim.

Heading the yeshiva will be HaGaon Rav Reuven Wolpin and include HaGaon Rav Zelig Braverman, HaGaon Rav Yisrael Edelstein and HaGaon Rav Cohen. Rav Nechemia Nordheim will serve as mashgiach.

While Rav Chaim is officially in charge of a number of yeshivos, it is reported that in this case, Rav Chaim views this as a “personal project” with hand selected staff.
