The levaya for the mashgiach who died of his injuries sustained in a matzah factory before Shabbos was set for 11:00 on Monday 24 Nissan. The family was present along with persons wishing to give a last kovod to avreich Rav Ofir Sharabi of Elad. However, the aron did not arrive, apparently delayed due to instructions given by a state agency. Details of the cause for the delay have not been released. Zaka’s legal department was called for assistance and officials immediately began to act towards having the niftar released for kvura.

Simultaneously, members of the community began gathering outside the niftar’s home. Finally, at about 14:00, as a result of the actions of Zaka officials, the niftar was released for burial.

Rav Sharabi was niftar of his massive injuries on Sunday 23 Nissan in Beilinson Hospital in Petach Tikvah, where he was since the accident that ultimately claimed his life.
