Kerry Asks for Benefit of the Doubt on Iran Nuclear Talks

kerThe Obama administration is trying to ease tensions with Israel before Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu speaks to Congress on Tuesday.

But the administration still insists its diplomatic record with Iran means it should get “the benefit of the doubt” while working to complete a long-term nuclear deal.

Secretary of State John Kerry was heading to Switzerland for more meetings with Iran’s foreign minister. Netanyahu arrives later Sunday in Washington — and the two men talked by telephone on Saturday.

Kerry tells ABC’s “This Week” that Netanyahu was welcome to speak in the United States and that the administration didn’t want the event “turned into some great political football.”

That’s a step back from some of the sharp rhetoric between the allies in recent weeks.

  1. Don’t anybody for one minute trust kerry because he is representing a lunatic. obama is giving iran the rights to a nuclear bomb. Iran todays nazi germany

  2. He is delusional. When the nukes start who will give who the benefit of the doubt. What is the harm of hearing Bibi other than the fact that he knows facts the mr. Kerry refused to acknowledge.

  3. “Benefit of the doubt”

The US double crossed the Iraqis and Afghanis. The US guaranteed Ukraine’s borders and refuses to even provide ammunition to Ukraine. Should we remember how the US betrayed the Vietnamese, leasing to deaths or concentrations for millions of Vietnamese (at the urging Mr. Kerry, who launced his career by boasting of how he stabbed the Vietnamese in the back).

Then lets talk about the massive defense cutbacks the Democrats are undertaking to guarantee that the US military couldn’t support an international “freedom of agenda” or “war on terror” if it wanted to.

Regardless of the merits of Israeli policy, Bibi has realized he is being thrown under the bus.
