Rebitzen Leah Karelitz A”H, the wife of HaGaon HaRav Nissim Karelitz Shlita was niftara on motzei Shabbos in Bnei Brak’s Mayanei HaYeshua Hospital. As the rebitzen’s condition weakened, she was hospitalized numerous times in the past year.

The rebitzen was a daughter of Rav Tzvi Kupshitz of Yerushalayim, Rosh Mesivta in the Diskin Orphanage. She was a great granddaughter of HaGaon Rav Chaim Zonnenfeld ZT”L.

She was known throughout her life for her kindness and acts of chessed as well as her mesirus nefesh for the husband, to permit him to carry on his avodas Hashem without interruption.

Dozens of women would visit her every evening seeking advice and guidance.

The levaya took place on motzei Shabbos from their home to the Zichron Meir Cemetery in Bnei Brak.
